CapTrade โ Privacy Policy
CapTrade ("the app") helps you follow U.S. congressional stock-trading disclosures. This policy explains what data the app and its backend handle.
Information we do NOT collect
CapTrade has no accounts and no sign-in. We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, email, contacts, location, or any personally identifying information. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
Data stored on your device
Your watchlist is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to us.
Information processed by our backend
The app fetches read-only data from the CapTrade API. Like any web service, the API records standard request logs (including IP address and timestamp) for a short period, solely to keep the service reliable and to prevent abuse and excessive load. These logs are not linked to any personal identity and are not sold or shared.
Subscriptions
CapTrade Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple. Payments are processed by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy; we never receive your payment details. Subscription status is verified on-device via Apple's StoreKit.
Data sources
Trading information shown in the app is derived from publicly disclosed congressional trading filings, surfaced via third-party data. CapTrade is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government body or the individuals shown, and the information is provided for informational purposes only โ not investment advice.
Children
CapTrade is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
